I have been working with the CIPRA.ai program for over six months and I must say it has been a transformative journey. The impact has been nothing short of outstanding.
Before the program, I faced challenges and uncertainties in managing BP effectively. On most days, I had no idea of my blood pressure readings or how different activities were affecting my blood pressure. Since joining the program, I have been provided with invaluable insights, skills, and resources to tackle these challenges head-on.
Although the program is not paired with any human health coaches, it was like having a dedicated team of mentors and experts by my side to help me manage my BP. The program's support has been instrumental in refining my behavior, diet, and activities that affect my blood pressure.

This program is great! Before CIPRA.ai there were several one-size-fits-all recommendations that didn't necessarily make sense for my needs. I would try five things and not be sure what worked if anything. Salt? Stress? Exercise? Diet? Weight loss? I was told I could do everything right, and still have high blood pressure.
With this program I get weekly lifestyle suggestions based on my unique circumstances. I couldn't be happier with the results. My average BP has reduced steadily and I love getting a message that says "your average BP is 5% lower than last week. Nice work!" That's happened more than once.

I am a 71-year-old male and have had hypertension for years and have been taking a couple of medications with different dosages. It was averaging 135/85. Early this year as we came out of the pandemic and I had not exercised regularly for a while. When I joined the CIPRA.ai program in Feb. 2023 my BP was averaging low 140/90. After a short while, the program encouraged me to exercise more. I started doing short swims 3–4 times a week and played golf twice a week, one time riding with a golf cart and the other time walking on regular 18-hole courses. And my BP lowered to 135/85 and inched toward 130/80.
During the hot summer weeks, I overdid it playing golf at courses with 90°F+ temperatures. The CIPRA.ai program immediately noticed that and suggested that I slow down and it really worked. Meanwhile my Fitbit data showed that I had poor sleeping patterns. The CIPRA.ai program encouraged me to get a good solid night's sleep and take a short noon nap if needed. Now my BP is average below 130/82 and often in the 125/80 range. The CIPRA.ai program is a good monitoring program and makes appropriate recommendations based on my BP and Fitbit data.

My BP has improved from typically about 150/80 when I started in February 2023 to an average of 115/68 the first week of August. This is a dramatic reduction. I have changed medications during this time but I think the discipline of recording BP twice a day, together with CIPRA.ai insights and hints have been the biggest driving factor.

I have had long term chronic high blood pressure for 27 years and taken Amlodipine 10mg and Metoprolol 25mg daily for the last 7 years, which sometimes kept my BP under control. Often it was between 130/80–150/96 mmHg.
Since I have been with the CIPRA.ai program, I have started meditation and changed my lifestyle to be more present and relaxed with many suggested activities through the program. When my BP is getting high, I will practice breathing and relaxing my blood vessels. My BP will come down at least 10 mmHg.
I have also changed my diet to be more mindful of eating plant-based products, and cut down red meat significantly. I relax more and play with my dogs every day when I feel stressed. For 6 weeks now my BP has been in normal ranges — usually under 120/80 mmHg.

Having a history of cancer, I see various specialists throughout the year, during which my blood pressure is taken at each visit. A few years ago, my primary care physician noticed my pressure during these visits was high and prescribed a low dosage of losartan potassium along with more frequent at-home pressure measurements.
This helped, but my pressure still varied. Since I began participating in the CIPRA.ai program, I've seen, in real time, that for me, diet and especially proper sleep habits are also important in lowering and maintaining my blood pressure.

CIPRA.ai is the accumulation of six years of R&D and clinical trials at UC San Diego — supported by Kaiser Permanente, UC San Diego Population Health, Altman Clinical Translational Research Institute, Samsung, Teradata and other industry leaders — which focused on using AI to precisely diagnose and treat patients with chronic conditions.
The impetus for this work came from founder Sujit Dey, after a series of self-experiments determined that sleep was the greatest contributor to his hypertension. These findings motivated Sujit to develop a data-driven, intelligent solution to untangle the complex relationships between lifestyle and chronic conditions, joined by former PhD students and co-founders Jared Leitner and Po-Han Chiang. Assembling a distinguished team of physicians and experts, the company launched in July 2022 and has expanded its AI-based platform to cover chronic cardiovascular and cardiometabolic diseases, with supervision provided by CIPRA.ai’s own expert clinical team as well as its partner health systems.

Sujit Dey is a technology visionary and entrepreneur, who has successfully transitioned impactful technologies from research to global deployments. He has founded or co-founded multiple companies in various industry verticals, including wireless, multimedia, renewable energy, and healthcare, leading to multiple acquisitions. He holds the Jacobs Family Endowed Chair in Management and Engineering Leadership at UC San Diego. In 2015, he started the UCSD Connected Health Program, in partnership with healthcare providers and healthtech companies, creating innovative AI based platforms and solutions in multiple healthcare practices. Sujit brings his vast experiences from his previous roles as CEO and CTO in product development and market strategy, partnership and business development, and venture funding and acquisitions to lead CIPRA.ai.

Subasis Bose is the head of operations in India at CIPRA.ai, with a career that has spanned across organizations such as Tata NYK, HP, and Netflix. With an extensive background in financial management and operational excellence, Subasis has been a driving force behind major initiatives, leveraging his financial acumen to optimize processes and maximize profitability. Subasis has led global teams across APAC, Europe and Latin America.

Leads Clinical Engagement
Brian Khan is a physician and informaticist who works at the intersection of healthcare and technology. Dr. Khan is board-certified in internal medicine experienced in the clinical care of patients with chronic conditions. He is also board-certified in lifestyle medicine which focuses on applying evidence-based, whole-person, prescriptive lifestyle changes to treat and reverse chronic conditions. Brian obtained his MBA in healthcare management and has worked at large health systems like UCSD Health and Adventist Health as a physician leader with broad responsibility around clinical information systems and innovation. Most recently, he has served as the Medical Director of Digital Health and Wellbeing at Advent Health. He is a digital health reviewer for the National Science Foundation and has hands-on experience guiding numerous early growth companies in digital health and AI. He is experienced with clinical trials particularly around the application of technology in healthcare and has numerous journal and textbook publications.

Sumeet Maniar has been a serial entrepreneur, with core expertise in product and new business development where he has led 15+ products and deals totaling $100mm cumulatively. Sumeet’s last several years in the healthcare space is in digital health and AI as CEO of WellBrain. Some relevant successes include driving medical device sales by up to 600% on a practice by practice basis nationwide, thus impacting a $25B industry. Sumeet also has leveraged success in areas of remote patient management and related areas in working with physicians and hospital systems, demonstrating health care savings, Rx decreases, and better patient outcomes. He recently won a product of the year award in Health 2.0 in 2022.

Lead Diabetes Dietitian Advisor
Sharmila Chatterjee MSc, MS, RDN, LDN, LD, CDCES, is a US board certified Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with over 25 years of experience in diabetes care in the US, and prior to that in India for 5 years at a diabetes clinic. Sharmila has worked at many health systems across the United States, including Sharp Grossmont Hospital, UCSD Medical Center in San Diego, CA, Endeavor Health in the division of endocrinology, Skokie, IL, and recently joined the University of Texas (UT) Health Houston, UT Physicians, McGovern Medical School in Houston, TX. She has extensive experience and knowledge in the use of technology and devices like insulin pumps, CGMs and InPen, and in the clinical management of Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational diabetes. She is a certified insulin pump trainer (CPT) as well, and is the founder of Global Dietitian Consultant.

Communications Lead
Antoripa Dey leads the communications functions at CIPRA.ai. She earned her B.A.s from New York University in Journalism and Urban Studies, with a concentration in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning in 2020. Antoripa has years of experience in communications development and management, from notable magazine publications to global nonprofit organizations. At CIPRA.ai, she specializes in fusing internal and external communications through patient and clinician engagement.

Heisy’s passion for patient care shows up in the details — the follow-up call that catches something small before it becomes something serious, and the care plan that reflects a patient’s real life, not just their chart. Patients trust her, and that trust is what makes CIPRA’s Chronic Care Management program work.
She brings a decade of nursing experience and a track record of clinical leadership to the role. Her background spans hands-on patient care as an Endoscopy Nurse and Vascular Nurse, through progressively senior leadership roles including Nursing Manager at HCA Healthcare and Larkin Community Hospital South Miami, and Director of Nursing at Larkin Community Hospital. She brings that same operational and clinical rigor to how she leads CIPRA’s care team.

Licensed Practical Nurse · Lead Remote Patient Monitoring Nurse
Ashton-Kara makes remote care feel personal. She is passionate about improving patient outcomes and about telephonic and virtual nursing done well — the steady, attentive follow-through that helps patients feel supported between visits.
Ashton-Kara brings more than five years of nursing experience, much of it in remote and telephonic care. She has specialized in remote patient monitoring, managing device alerts and supporting patients with at-home devices, and went on to supervise an RPM team — building daily assignments and schedules, tracking team metrics, and serving as the go-to resource for RPM questions. Her background in chart auditing, utilization management, quality control and HEDIS nursing gives her a strong command of clinical time tracking, documentation and billing requirements, while years of hands-on work at care facilities and virtual patient assessments keep her grounded in what patients need. That combination of clinical, operational and virtual-care experience is exactly what she brings to leading CIPRA’s RPM nursing team.

Chief Medical Advisor, Value-Based Care
Holly Faber Tse, MD, FACP, FAAP is a physician executive and healthcare strategist with 20 years of experience leading clinical quality, value-based care, and digital health transformation across integrated health systems. She currently serves as Regional Medical Director for the Pacific Northwest at Aledade, overseeing ACO clinical strategy and performance improvement across 90+ primary care practices in seven states. She is also the founder and CEO of Novella Insights, an executive advisory practice focused on healthcare quality and clinical transformation. Through Novella Insights, she leads “Clinic of the Future”–a redesign of outpatient care using AI and digital tools to replace clinic visits with a continuous, personalized flow of care for every patient. Previously, she served as Vice President and Hospital Chief Medical Officer at Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center, where she led enterprise quality strategy, medical staff governance, and Lean transformation. Board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and still practicing and teaching, Dr. Tse brings deep expertise in population health strategy and health system operations to her role as Chief Medical Advisor, Value-Based Care at CIPRA.ai.

Dr. Thomas has always been interested in the “big picture” — how healthcare systems intersect with business and healthcare policy to deliver high-quality care to patients. Throughout medical training and over seven years with Kaiser Permanente, this interest has been a consistent focus. As Physician Site Lead at Reston Medical Center, Dr. Thomas has ensured smooth operations and an excellent patient experience. In the role of Regional Quality Advisor, Dr. Thomas has developed and implemented numerous workflows across the healthcare system to improve the quality of care patients receive.

Co-Chief, Adult & Family Medicine, Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic
Born and raised in the Washington, DC area, Dr. Ryder graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in 2009 and completed residency training at the University of Chicago. Board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Dr. Ryder provides primary care for adults and children at Kaiser Permanente and leads a team of 200 Adult & Family Medicine physicians and leaders across DC and Suburban Maryland.

Physician Director, Columbia University Medical Center
Akhil Shenoy MD MPH is an associate professor of psychiatry and director of transplant psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center in NYC. He specializes in the psychiatric clinical care of liver and kidney transplant recipients and their donors. His research at Columbia includes alcohol use disorder and other addictions in the context of alcohol-associated liver disease, decision making in living organ donors and psychosocial outcomes after solid organ transplant. He completed undergraduate studies in biochemistry at UC San Diego, medical training at the Chicago Medical School, and residency and fellowship at Boston University Medical Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Satya Toram is a board-certified internal medicine and post-acute long-term care physician based in Saratoga, California. He co-owns Blossom Ridge Medical Group and serves as a medical director at a local nursing home. Dr. Toram has an extensive background in medicine, having worked in both the United Kingdom and the United States. Restrictions on mobile and SMS data: No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
We seek to protect your Personal Data using appropriate physical, technical, organizational and administrative security measures. All data transmission occurs via secure encrypted connections, and data is stored in CIPRA.ai’s secure infrastructure behind a maintained firewall. Identifiable information is stored separately from health data and linked only by a CIPRA.ai ID. We retain Personal Data for as long as you have an open account or as necessary to provide the Services or comply with legal obligations.
We do not knowingly collect or solicit Personal Data about children under 13 years of age. If we learn we have collected Personal Data from a child under 13, we will delete it as quickly as possible. If you believe a child under 13 may have provided Personal Data to us, please contact us at support@cipra.ai.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, delete, or opt out of the sale of your Personal Data. CIPRA.ai does not sell Personal Data and has not done so over the last 12 months. To exercise your rights, email us at support@cipra.ai; we will work to respond to a valid request within 45 days.

Welcome to the CIPRA.ai Hypertension and/or Diabetes management program (the “Service”). The Service is owned by CIPRA.ai, Inc. and its subsidiaries or affiliates (collectively, “we,” “us,” “our,” or “CIPRA.ai”). By accessing or using the Service, including our websites or mobile applications in any way, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions (the “Agreement”). Questions? Arbitration notice and class action waiver: Except for certain types of disputes described in the arbitration agreement, disputes between you and us will be resolved by binding, individual arbitration, and you waive your right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
This Agreement is a binding contract between you and CIPRA.ai and applies to your use of the Service, which provides activity and blood pressure/glucose monitoring, data analysis, a personal CIPRA.ai account, personalized recommendations, access to CIPRA.ai’s mobile and web-based management systems and technologies (including AI Services), and monitoring and support from CIPRA.ai’s staff. You may need a supported activity tracker and Bluetooth-enabled monitor; your use of those devices is also subject to each manufacturer’s terms. You promise to provide accurate registration information and to protect your account credentials.
CIPRA.ai does not offer medical advice or diagnoses or engage in the practice of medicine. The Service is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment and is offered for informational purposes only. The Service should never be used as a substitute for emergency care. If you have a medical or mental health emergency, call 911 or seek treatment at the nearest emergency room.

The Content available through the Service is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant each user a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Content solely for purposes of using the Service. Anything you provide through the Services is your “User Submission,” for which you grant CIPRA.ai a license to operate, maintain, and improve the Services; your ownership is not affected.
You may terminate your use of the Service at any time by contacting us at support@cipra.ai. CIPRA.ai may also terminate or suspend access for any reason, including breach of this Agreement. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
Availability of our mobile application depends on the third-party app stores from which you download it (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play), and you agree to comply with those stores’ terms. Additional Apple App Store terms apply to our iOS application.
